Submission of photos on PhotoVault Online
Bloemfontein Camera Club make use of PhotoVault Online for submission of all club entries. The web site for PhotoVault is
Step 1: Registration You will first need to register on the system. Open PhotoVault by going to http://www.photovaultonline.com Click on the “Register” link in the blue line. Follow the instructions to register. NB - you only need to register once on the system. If you are already using PhotoVault for salon submissions – you will already be registered.
Step 2: Loading photos onto PhotVault Open PhotoVault by going to http://www.photovaultonline.com Select “Login” from the blue line. Use your username and password you created in Step 1 to log in. Once you have logged in – select “My PhotoVault” from the blue bar. This will take you to a page where you can upload photos. If you already have photos on PhotoVault – you will see your photos. On this page there is a link called “Upload New Photo” Click on this and you will get a field where you need to “browse” for your photo. All the rules of the Bloemfontein Camera club still apply to loading photos onto PhotoVault. Photos must be 1024 x 768 with a max size of 500 kb. Click on the photo you want to up load. Give the photo a name. This is just the name of the photo – like “Lion Kill”. Click “submit” and your photo will be uploaded. It is now on the system and will remain there until you discard or archive it. If your photo is not the correct size – it will not load and you will get an error message stating what the problem is with your photo. Once you have corrected the photo – you can upload it.
Step 3 – Submitting photos for the club Click onto “My Entries” in the blue bar. This will give you a drop down menu with various options. Select the “Clubs” option. This will bring you to a page with a drop down menu option. (The first event could be Annual Westville Challenge – or something similar). Click on the small arrow to activate the pull down menu. Select “Bloemfontein Camera Club” This will bring you to our club submission system. You will find a total of 9 categories. Please make sure that you enter you photos into the correct category. There are Nature and Pictorial categories for each of the star groupings as we currently use for judging in the club. Make sure you enter your photos into the correct category. There is also a “Set Subject” category which is for the VO or set subject photos. This is where you will submit the “Movie poster” photos for the August club month. The club rules for submission of photos remain the same. You can submit two photos into the set subject and three photos into either Nature, Pictorial or a combination – but with a maximum of three photos. To enter the photos, click on the correct category (i.e. if you are a 1 star photographer and you want to enter a Nature photo – select “1 and 2 star Nature”. As soon as you have selected a category – you will be able to see all of your photos you have loaded onto the system. Just click on the photo you want to enter. The photo will appear in the block with your entry. You can change the order of your photos by clicking on “Sort”. Once you have finished with the category, click on “Back to my Entry Overview” This will allow you to select another category. Once you have selected all of your photos – click on “Back to my Entry Overview”. On the overview page – you will find button called “Finalise My Entry”. You can make changes and re-finalise until the closing time.
The system will close at 24:00 on the Friday before the club. In other words, the system will no longer accept photos after 24:00 on Friday 29 July. My suggestion is that you do not wait until Friday night to submit you photos for August. Once the system closes it is closed!
